HP Dashcam Warranty

Warranty Period: 1 Year Replacement Warranty

Purpose: Step-by-step service protocol for diagnosing and resolving HP Dashcam issues under warranty.

Step 1: SD Card Validation

  • Verify Compatibility:
Confirm that the SD card in use is from the HP-approved list (performance-grade, high-endurance microSD cards).

  • Action if Faulty:
Replace with a new, approved SD card and observe whether the dashcam powers on and begins recording correctly.

 Step 2: Visual Inspection

  • Inspect Device:
    Check for signs of:

    • Physical damage or cracks

    • Burn marks or overheating

    • Water/moisture ingress

    • Damaged ports, connectors, or cables

  • Result:
If any of the above are found, warranty is void.

Step 3: Restart the Dashcam

  • Soft Reset:
Long-press the Power/Reset button as per model instructions.

  • Confirm Functionality:
Wait for a full reboot and verify if:

    • Display turns on

    • Status lights blink or operate normally

Step 4: Firmware Update

  • Use Latest Firmware:
Download the official firmware update for the specific model only from HP’s official support channel.

  • Stable Power Supply:
Ensure the dashcam has continuous power during the update process.

  • Post-Update Check:
After installation, verify the dashcam restarts and functions normally.

Step 5: Cross Verification

  • Swap Unit:
Connect a working HP Dashcam to the same vehicle using:

    • The same mount

    • The same cables

    • The same power source

  • Check Results:

    • If the replacement unit works, the original unit is faulty.

    • If it fails, investigate the vehicle’s power wiring or voltage stability.

Step 6: Replacement Eligibility

Proceed with warranty replacement only if:

  • The unit is within the 1-year warranty period

  • There is no evidence of physical damage, tampering, or misuse

  • All diagnostic steps (1–5) have been completed and documented

Replacement Protocol

  1. Tag the defective unit with:

    • Filled warranty card

    • Original dealer invoice

    • Completed diagnostic checklist

  2. Log the return in the warranty & inventory claim database.

  3. Issue replacement of the same model (subject to availability).
